Simplifile, which provides real estate document collaboration and recording technologies for lenders, settlement agents, and counties, added 43 counties and parishes to its eRecording network during the fourth quarter of 2016 and the first quarter of this year.
The new counties and parishes were in the South and the Midwest and came from 18 states.
“eRecording saves counties and settlement service providers time and money while increasing borrower and lender satisfaction,” Simplifile President Paul Clifford said in a press release. “It is our pleasure to support these new jurisdictions as they transition from manual recording to an electronic process that is more efficient and beneficial for everyone involved.”
With Simplifile, settlement agents in the counties in the network can scan and submit documents directly to the county recording office. In turn, the county recorder can review, stamp, record, and return documents to the settlement agent using the same electronic system. Settlement agents also can make payments through Simplifile service.
