Futura Title & Escrow announced the retirement of Chuck Sheffield, senior vice president and corporate title manager.
Sheffield has been a fixture in the title industry for nearly 45 years, starting his career in San Diego in March of 1979 with Terra Title, which later became Orange Coast Title.
In 1995, Sheffield made the move to Oregon and AmeriTitle where he continued to grow and lead, serving as president of the Oregon Land Title Association and as a director on the board of the Oregon Title Insurance Rating Organization, as well as numerous committee/committee chair assignments for each.
He also earned and maintained his National Title Professional designation for the last 10 years.
“I am grateful for the opportunity provided to me when I was hired on with AmeriTitle on Dec. 29, 1995,” Sheffield told The Title Report. “Only a true title nerd starts and leaves on the same day. I very much appreciate all the support the AmeriTitle and Futura Title teams have provided over the many years. It has been a wonderful journey for which I am very thankful.”
Futura Title CEO Larry Matney added, “As always when we have a retirement of a long-tenured leader within our family of companies, it comes with mixed emotions. We are happy for Chuck to embark on his next adventure but know that he has left his mark on us and will be greatly missed.”
Cynthia Simpson will assume Sheffield’s responsibilities, and the corporate title/underwriting team will be led by Russ Davis, senior vice president, for Futura Title’s brands in the northwest.
